I won't go into the scam details because it is all the same procedures as everything you read online. This time it's a crypto scam, where he puts money into crypto and then the scammer makes you put it into another platform (abccexs). My father has stolen and lied to me and my mother for money, took out personal loans, and loaned money from friends twice already. We've spoken kindly and compassionately with him, gave our support, yet all conversations end in screaming fights. We are out of almost $200,000 and my family is tired.
I am writing for solutions. I've already given him the cold shoulder, my mother has control of all of their cash, only giving him money when he needs to pay credit card bills, and threatened my father with divorce. There is no point in explaining to my dad this is a scam anymore because he's gone in too deep and I'm wondering if there is some mental health disorder he is battling. He dismisses all of our feelings and can't see that he's hurt us. He is officially brainwashed into making quick money and truly believes "rich women want to help him".
He is extremely difficult to work with- he has narcissistic tendencies and is extremely materialistic. He believes recovering the money will buy back love (which isn't true). I have helped repay his loan once but I am done helping him. He has been saved too many times due to our family's compassionate nature. At this point, could die buried in debt and I don't care. I just need solutions to stop him from putting in any of our hard earned money. He needs to learn consequences.
Any advice will be appreciate with how to proceed moving forward to protect ourselves.
